5 Daily Habits to Support Your Busy Lifestyle

Updated: Jan 3, 2022

Do you remember way back when we had all the time in the world to get things done? Life was slower and easier? I don't... lol!

We live in a very fast paced world and quite often it can cause us to feel overwhelmed, burn out and exhausted.

When we feel this way it can feel difficult to make progress on our health goals.

You may be wanting to improve your eating habits, energy levels or lose a few extra kilo's to feel more comfy in your clothes. But are finding you don't have the time.

Today I'm going to share with you 5 habits that will help you maintain your busy lifestyle and free up some energy to help you make progress on your health goals.

So lets get into these 5 habits...

HABIT 1: Setting Your Intention Each Morning

The first habit is setting your intention for the day. It takes just 30 seconds and is best done first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. You can also do it again at night before you fall asleep to doubly reinforce it.

When you tell yourself "tomorrow my intention is to wake up clear minded, well rested and energised" then see it happening and believe it will happen your mind begins to work to help you achieve this. You'll be surprised at how setting your intention can make a big difference to your day.

HABIT 2: 5x5 Breathing

This is a new technique I learnt from my Mum, who is a yoga teacher, and it's super powerful! This technique will help you to clear your mind, re-energise your body and help you feel more balanced.

It works by breathing into your belly through your nose for 5 seconds then out through your nose for a further 5 seconds. The trick is to do this for at leat 5 times (50 seconds) 3-4 times a day. It helps looking at a clock when you do this and can be quite a meditative feeling.

HABIT 3: Regular Exercise

The third habit is getting at least 30 minutes of exercise each day, whether that is going for a walk, going to the gym or doing a group workout. Exercise boosts your energy levels, assists with weight loss, calms your nervous system down, boosts your mood, helps you sleep better at night, tonifies your muscles, strengthens your bones and so much more.

I get that it can be hard to fit exercise into your busy day, but where possible see how you could do up to 30 minutes even if its broken down into a 10min walk to/from work, 15 minute walk during your lunch break or doing the internal stairs for 5 minutes.

HABIT 4: Having a Green Juice/Smoothie

The fourth healthy habit is having a green juice or green smoothie a few times during the week. Green juices/smoothies are a great way to infuse your body with nutrients, boost your energy levels, get at least 3-4 serves of veggies in one go, calm your nervous system down, brighten your eyes, hydrate your skin, boost your immunity and so much more! HABIT 5: Getting Enough Sleep

The last habit is getting plenty of sleep! When get enough sleep you function better, you make better choices and those little problems or challenges that pop up don't seem as big in comparison.

I personally need a minimum of 8 hours of solid sleep each night to function optimally. Have a think about how many hours of sleep you need each night and what you could to do improve your sleep if you're not getting enough.

I hope some or all of these habits have inspired you to take action and try them out for yourself in supporting your busy lifestyle. You'll be surprised at how a few simple changes can make a big difference to your life!
