When you're working full time, running a household, raising children and trying to fit a social life into the mix the last thing you may want to think about is meal planning.
However, meal planning sets your week up for success and makes your life a whole lot easier day to day!
You simply don't need to think about what you're going to have for breakfast, lunch, as a snack or prepare for dinner as you've already planned these meals out ahead of time.
It's a great habit to get into and something I recommend to all of my clients.
So, today I thought I'd share with you 4 time saving meal planning tips to help make your weekly meal planning that much easier.
Lets get into them!
Tip 1: Set a time on the weekend to plan your meals and do a food shop when you do this each and every weekend it becomes a habit just like doing the washing or cleaning the house.
Tip 2: Have a list of go to dinner ideas that you can stick on your fridge and refer to when you do your weekly meal planning (ideally you'll want to have 12-15). You only need to do this once and it reduces the time spent week after week on coming up with different dinner ideas.
Tip 3: Make a few snacks in bulk on the weekend i.e. protein balls, trail mix, home-made muesli bars, veggie sticks to have with hommus etc...
Tip 4: Batch cook a few dinner options or make double the amount like curries, stews, pasta sauces, risottos, rissoles, quiches etc... which gives you freezer meals to use on those "I have no time" or "can't be bothered cooking" nights.
Give a few of these a go today, you'll find they'll make your life so much easier during the week as you simply don't need to think about what to eat every single day!
