Today I thought I'd share with you some key sustainable weight loss habits that will serve you well this year.
Before we dive in though, I just wanted to talk about diet culture.
Something that really irks me is it's only focused on one thing "quick weight loss" and getting there the fastest way possible without any regard to the carnage in leaves in its wake.
Carnage in terms of the effect it has on ones self esteem and confidence when the weight comes back on especially after having endured going without and feeling restricted.
It's not wonder individuals often feel like they don't have enough will power, lack the motivation or struggle with sticking to things...
But there is an easier and better way and that's by creating a healthy lifestyle instead so you can lose weight sustainably and keep it off without feeling restricted.
Plus not to mention all the other benefits including having more energy, feeling happier, more alert and having a greater sense of wellbeing!
That's why today I wanted to share with you 5 Sustainable Weight Loss Habits that that will serve you well this year and are habits I recommend to all of my clients who are wanting to lose weight in a more sustainable way.
These habits will help with laying the foundations and can be put in place one at a time until you have all 5 in place.
So lets get into them!
Habit 1: Eating 2 Fruit and 5 Serves of Vegetables each day
Habit 2: Drink 2-3L of water each day
Habit 3: Exercise for 30 minutes each day
Habit 4: Keeping Treats as Treats
Habit 5: Planning out your Meals each week
If you are already doing most of these habits, great work! If you're only doing a few then get started today but putting at last one of these habits in place and building up to all five.
It may take time to be doing them consistently, however regardless of how long it takes - eventually they'll become a habit and something that comes easily to you.
Once you begin putting these habits in place you'll be surprised at how a few simple changes can make a big difference to your weight, energy levels and overall health.
And as always, if you'd like some help and support with losing weight in a way that's sustainable (without dieting), increasing energy levels, improving relationship with food or managing a disease or condition I'm here to help.
