3 ways to be more consistent with eating healthy long term

Today I thought I'd share with you some simple ways to be more consistent with eating healthy long term.

I work with a lot of individuals who struggle with this and I often hear:

  • their busy lifestyle stops them,

  • it takes too long to make healthy food, or

  • its hard to find healthy meals and snacks that taste good!

But when we look at how to put an eating routine in place that suites their strengths, lifestyle and taste buds they find it's much easier to be more consistent with eating healthy.

Plus... as mentioned in a previous newsletter, I find being consistent nearly impossible to achieve as it's not sustainable long term!

What's sustainable though, is putting things in place you can do most of the time and things you enjoy doing!

So how do we be more consistent with eating healthy long term?

1. Save time by planning ahead

When you plan out your meals each week (doesn't need to take long) and do a food shop to stock your fridge and pantry you'll save yourself time during the week as you wont need to work out what you're going to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and as a snack every single day of the week.

2. Make a few meals/snacks in bulk

I'm a big fan of having freezer meals and grab and go snacks as it makes life so much easier when you don't feel like cooking or want a quick tasty snack. To make it easy you can make double the amount of something and freeze the leftovers or make a few recipes on the weekend and build your frozen meals/snacks over time.

3. Choose healthy meals that taste great!

There are hundreds of easy to make, tasty and healthy recipes out there. Choose healthy meals that you enjoy and look forward to eating vs eating plain and boring meals. Healthy doesn't mean tasteless it's actually the opposite!

In summary by planning ahead, having some freezer friendly meals and snacks and actively finding/choosing meals that are easy to make and taste great you'll find you'll save time during the week and enjoy eating healthy on a more consistent basis.

And, if you'd like to get hold of a meal planning system that just takes 20 minutes a week, a heaps of freezer friendly meals and snacks, a bunch of easy to make and tasty recipes and so much more....
